Four Days/Three Nights -  DECEMBER 4-7, 2008

JOIN US FOR A STEP BACK IN TIME, LIFE IN THE 1770's......

Come with a friend or bring along your grandchild for a fun and educational experience.  Colonial Williamsburg is the nation's largest outdoor living history museum!

Board our flight departing Kansas City Thursday, December 4, arriving at our destination airport near Williamsburg, Virginia.  Transfer to our hotel, The Woodlands or similar, located close to the shuttle bus service.

Next morning after our continental breakfast at the hotel, on to the Visitors' Center for orientation, programs, and schedules of activities (best place to reserve optional activities).  Board CW shuttle bus.  For the next two days, we experience history!  Tour the Governor's Palace and the Capitol Building.  Meet our nation's forefathers:  a public audience with George Washington or Thomas Jefferson, a conversation with Patrick Henry (portrayed by talented interpreters in colonial dress), and cheer their rousing speeches.  March along with the Fife and Drum Corps.  Participate in a reenactment of a trial, join in Virginia reel dance lessons.  Or shoulder your musket for the militia drill at the Magazine.

Browse through shops and leisurely stroll historic areas.  Visit tradesmen busy at work--the village blacksmith, print shop, harness maker, buy a corset at the tailor's shop!

For evenings at Williamsburg, there are optional concerts and walking tours.  Or reserve optional King's Arms Tavern Feast, or afternoon high tea (and gossip) at Christiana Campbell's Tavern.

Sunday December 7, morning check out, transfer to airport, and board our return flight back to Kansas City.

Price of trip - $726.00 per person for AAUW members,  $766.00 for non-members.  These prices are based on double occupancy.  Includes roundtrip airfare from Kansas City, three nights' hotel accommodations, and continental breakfast each day.  Does not include other meals.  Also includes airport transfers and general admission ticket to Colonial Williamsburg each day.  Single supplement, if available, to be announced.

Deposit of $150.00 is required to hold your place.

Minimum participants, 10 people;  Maximum, 16 people.  Eligible to participate--AAUW members, their friends and family.  Not a member?  This is a perfect time to join!
