Park University and the AAUW Parkville Branch generously agreed to host the 2007 Missouri-Kansas Convention. University President and CEO Beverley Byers-Pevitts welcomed AAUW members to the campus and led a very interesting tour through parts of the underground campus. The facility at the College for Distance Learning proved to be an excellent place to hold the convention, and the faculty and staff were helpful and friendly. Special thanks go to Shirley Breeze, Southwest Central regional director, and Marsha Koch, AAUW Missouri program vice president, for their part in the planning and execution of a great convention. Leisha DeHart Davis, AAUW Educational Foundation fellow, is an assistant professor at the University of Kansas in the Public Administration Department, which is ranked #1 by U.S. News and World Report for city management and urban policy. Her research interests include the social, psychological effects of bureaucracy and gender dimensions of public administration. She received her doctorate in public policy at Georgia institute of Technology in 2000 and her undergraduate in interdisciplinary studies from the University of South Carolina in 1986.
